We've got a while still to wait until we can get our hands on the new Scouts, so I thought it would be cool to get a sense of what we're all driving now.
I'm curious if we end up seeing any trends - are there a lot of Jeep drivers, maybe VW fans?
I'll get started and admit that I fit into neither camp. I'm in the process of driving the wheels off this 2009 Ford Fusion.
I bought it lightly used and it's provided 12+ years of (mostly) trouble-free ownership. I'm hoping now that it lasts long enough for either the new Scout to be released, or (failing that) for new vehicle prices and availability to come back to something resembling normal.?

We've got a 2016 Mini Cooper and a 2014 RAV4 in our driveway at the moment. Hoping the RAV4 can hold on so we can replace it with the Scout!

To answer your question, here is the quick and dirty on The Booger.
I brought the family out to see my newly acquired scout (trailored home). I could see the diamond under the dust. It was primer green, too many dents to count, and TONS of rust. I asked my little girl what she thought. She said, "Daddy, it looks like a BOOGER!"
It took a long time to save the money and things were done over a couple of years...my sanity from the kids when I needed to bust my knuckles. I became proficient in almost everything Scout 80 & 800. I fell in love with the car, the company, the crazy stories I would hear every time I drove it....."My dad used to have...." or, "I haven't seen one of those since....". I have met a lot of really good people because of International and this Scout.
During the years of restoration (my first resto), I worked on every part of this car except the front differential and the steering wheel. I replaced about 80% of the metal. My son and I installed a 196 in place of the 152. Fuel injection, disc brakes, swapped the rear axle for a Dana 44 (off of a scout 800), rebuilt anything rebuildable...etc. I tried to keep it as, "modern stock" as I could. We have a matching full top that only goes on when it is really chilly. I have yet to put in the restored bulkhead. One day I will have a half top!

Today I just bought a 1953 R110. So I am on top of the world. I know what I will be doing every free moment for the next....

The color is a bit of a secret because I borrowed from another SUV producer...
Its called Anvil, color code PDS.

I am beyond interested. I have been following the development of Scout to the best of my ability. I spoke to and IH website owner who just met with a member of the elite team that is currently Scout. I am eager to get my foot in the door any way I can. You can't get more passionate about the brand, it's history, and it's future. I asked my buddy to name drop for me...but it looks like I will be going through the same HR company as all other candidates.

I currently reside in NC, having moved from the northern VA area. The hybrid jobs they have listed seem too good to be true for me...really the best of all worlds. I simply need a door opened.

How about you all? Do you happen to have any additional information that might get me closer to my goal of being an integral part of the Scout team?
